As we enter into the third decade of our existence in Uganda, the MRC/UVRI Uganda Research Unit is proud to have contributed to the multi-disciplinary HIV research achievements of this country and globally.

This work has led to valuable insights into the course of the epidemic, made major contributions to the development of new HIV prevention strategies, better care and helped to inform policy and practice of HIV/AIDS Control in Uganda and elsewhere in Africa.

In addition, the Unit has contributed to the human and infrastructure capacity development in the areas where we have worked and elsewhere in Uganda and in the region. We are grateful to our local and international partners, the Governments of Uganda and the UK, without whom we would not have made these achievements.

We look forward to continued collaborations and partnerships as we strive for an AIDS free world.
